Nick Swim Tabbed First Devil Dogz Manager
Brings Division 1 and Division 3 coaching, playing experience to Zebulon for inaugural 2026 campaign
ZEBULON, NC – The Zebulon Devil Dogz announced today that Nick Swim will lead the Devil Dogz as field manager for the team’s inaugural 2026 campaign. Opening Night at Five County Stadium is slated for Friday, May 22.
“We are very excited to welcome Nick as our manager for our first season in Zebulon. Nick’s combination of knowledge of the game as both a player and coach, along with his experience as a mentor, is exactly what we were looking for.” said Devil Dogz General Manager Caleb Whittemore. “We are confident that Nick will be a tremendous presence in our dugout and our community, as well as a great leader and teacher for our players this summer.”
“I’m super excited to be joining the inaugural season of the Zebulon Devil Dogz,” said Swim. “I’ve seen the tremendous impact that summer baseball can have on athletes and communities, and I look forward to making this a great summer for all!!”
Swim began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Bridgton Academy in 2017, in addition to serving as an assistant coach for the Sanford Mainers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. After assisting in the baseball operations department at Division 1 Ball State University for two years, he served as volunteer assistant coach at Husson University in Bangor, Maine from 2024-25, helping lead the Eagles to a North Atlantic Conference Championship, and an NCAA Regional appearance. Husson in 2025 posted a 24-16 record, including a 13-4 mark in league play, with Swim also coaching the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year award winners. From 2019-23, he attended the University of Louisville and obtained his doctorate in Sports Administration, and currently works as Clinical Assistant Professor of Sports Administration at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
A two-year letter winner and North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year winner at Vermont State University Castleton, Swim posted a .407 batting average with 131 hits, including 32 doubles, two triples, and five homers. He also earned New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-New England Second Team selection honors, and holds the program record at Castleton for career batting average, in addition to ranking tie for first in doubles. Swim was also tabbed the Vermont Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in 2010, and went on to play at New Jersey Institute of Technology for two years before transferring to Vermont State University Castleton.
